Treating Memory Disorders

The memory disorders are in other words amnesia. These can be when the brain is not able to register any event/talk; it is not able to recall any earlier happening. All point in the direction that the brain is slowly losing its apparent powers and the different parts are unable to coordinate the working, giving birth to such memory disorders.

The mammillary bodies in your brain are the memory centers and any damage to them gives rise to memory disorders. Amnesia can set in due to organic or functional factors. Certain traumas, diseases and drugs take an adverse toll on your memory centre. At times, amnesia is a temporary feature and you will recover within a short period. You will then recollect everything until the condition set in.

Generally, injuries to the head and traumas result in memory disorders. The physical injuries affect the brain cells and their functioning and retaining powers. Sometimes traumas adversely affect the brain, which then fails to receive or act on signals. This may take an ugly turn when the brain refuses to remember anything and virtually your memory centre faces a complete wipe-off. Children suffer amnesia due to psychological pressures.

You can broadly point at a few main causes of memory disorders. Old age is a very common cause as by then your nerve cells outgrow their retention capacities. Chronic ailments like diabetes and high blood pressure also leave their mark on the brain. Senior citizens are prone to depression, which is another cause for amnesia. Sometimes vitamin deficiency is the reason behind, though this has a cure in the form of nutritional supplements and medication. Serious brain infections are a major concern.

Excessive stress is detrimental to a healthy brain when you overload the brain and want it to function with same vigor, it simply breakdowns. The best way to combat memory disorders is by having an overall diet rich in nutrition and exercises but lacking in stress.
