Benefits of Aerobics

Aerobics is an exercise, which helps the human body use oxygen for producing energy. During aerobic exercise, the body breaks down more fat and glucose. As a result, a person's fitness level increases and fat level reduce. Moderately intense activities such as 3-10 minute walks will get the desired results. One must blend an active lifestyle with good eating habits for the best results.

Aerobics can benefit in more than one ways. It can keep cardiovascular diseases and certain forms of cancers in check. It can reduce blood pressure and cholesterol levels and reduce body fat. It reduces anxiety. Different forms of exercise like walking, jogging and dancing carried on for 20 to 30 minutes is sufficient.

One can start aerobics even at the age of 40 years. However, it is important to consult a physician before starting or taking up any activity. Start gently and speed up as the body warms up. Several small rounds of 10 minutes each are bound to benefit. If one is tired, one can rest for a day before beginning again.

Your doctor, exercise physiologists, qualified physical education teachers and sports coaches should be able to help you achieve the best results from aerobics.

Research has found that aerobics has helped in improving the good cholesterol levels on test patients. A report published in The Journal of Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness states that aerobic exercises largely raised the good cholesterol levels of certain participants.

Water aerobics is very suitable for people of all ages and level of fitness as it prevents any occurrence of injuries. It is twice as efficient as it burns double the amount of calories in any given timeframe.

Aerobics is highly recommended, as it is a major factor in reducing one's weight, killing depression, lowering blood pressure, reducing the hazard and harmful effects of diabetes and in prevention of heart disease and some kinds of cancer.
